Red wine (and steak) lovers often rave about Argentine Malbec – discover why when you try our Tasca Reserve.
Sourced from a family estate (where they’ve been perfecting their craft for over 70 years) in the heart of Mendoza’s premium Luján de Cuyo district, it seriously wowed our tasting panel.
A little bit on the region: Once you get past the disarmingly gorgeous Andean backdrop, you can see this is primo wine turf. Technically, this part of Argentina is a desert, averaging only 8 inches of rainfall a year. Viticulture is only possible with the help of irrigation fed by pure mountain snowmelt, which doses the vines with loads of mineral nutrients. Malbec thrives here, developing phenomenal concentration and aromatic intensity, thanks to the dazzling, high-elevation sunshine and chilly breezes that whistle through the vineyards.
Look for heady dark fruit/berry aromas (plum, cherry, raisin). Sweet, rounded, and very well-balanced tannins frame a palate that bursts with blackberry, black cherry, and more plum.
Showstopping pairings include ribeye steak smothered in chimichurri, sausage and peppers, and anything BBQ.
