The 4900 Series Heavy Duty Deadlatch offers versatile traffic control and simple installation. It features a key-controlled bolt hold-back, enabling two-way traffic for applications needing free entrance at certain times and exit-only at others. This allows a 'locked' entrance to be used as an exit by those already inside. A minimum door thickness of 1-3/4" is required. It's interchangeable with any MS1850S deadbolt of the same backset and faceplate shape, and can also retrofit existing 4510 and discontinued 4700 Deadlatch preparations. To operate, turn the key or use the handle/paddle to retract the spring-loaded latchbolt. To keep the bolt retracted, push it in and secure with a reverse key turn. The lock accommodates standard 1" length, 1-5/32" diameter mortise cylinders with MS cam from either side. Specifications include a cylinder backset of 31/32", 1-1/8", or 1-1/2", a case measuring 7/8" x 5-13/16" x depth, and screw-fastened tube spacer brackets for cleaner removal during tab mounting.
