The traditional felted wool from the Tyrol region of Austria is called "walk" (pronounced "valk") and is all produced in Wörgl, South Tyrol.

"Walk" is made by knitting the finest Tyrolean wool into a knit, felting the fibers, and boiling them in lukewarm Tyrolean pure water until they shrink to 40% of their original size.

This versatile material is highly breathable, flexible, shape-retaining, and flame-resistant, making it very durable.
Normal care requires only brushing.
