The things of the spirit will be lost in a generation except they are taught - Kenneth E. Hagin, the well-respected and famous theologian of the 20th Century.I believe that this is what this generation requires today. With the tons of articles written against prominent evangelical/ charismatic, Pentecostal ministers who are in your face in the media, it therefore requires that we shouldn't personalise the moving of the Holy Ghost or the things of the Holy Ghost because of our perception of certain individuals.I firmly believe this as well that the charismatic gifts and ministries should be well explained, in spite of as it were, the perceived excesses or at times a near-unbelief status of certain Christian ideological leanings, or say theological leanings towards the Charismatic Ministry. In our earlier books on the same subject, we had strongly affirmed the basis of why a charismatic ministry is in continuum today, and even forever. Here we intend to open a wider vista; narrative of explaining this fact all through the scriptures.Without much ado, the Bible is set in a supernatural world. Apart from studying scriptures, within its grammatical, historical contexts to derive and to know its theology, we require to see and properly establish the worldview of scriptures as supernatural. The fact that the whole Bible (referring to its basis in the Old Testament) is called “The prophets “already opens up our study or research of scripture into a document that explains the supernatural world. The supernatural world therefore, will involve God and of course, the godhead (depending on how this is said or taught), and angels; supernatural beings, demons, and man himself. Anybody that believes in God has already subscribed to the faith in the supernatural, because God, as taught in scriptures, is spirit and those that worship Him must do it in spirit and in truth. The word, “spirit” which from the Greek and the Hebrew narratives of scripture, refers to the supernatural. Therefore, if this is so, an argument against the charismatic ministry, or to lessen its effect, and as it were, its hold on Christianity’s beliefs and ideologies, will in other words deny the very facts and theology of scripture itself.I must mention that in the evangelical world, things and beliefs are split along different blocks. Some assume and assert that the gifts of the spirit, the things of the spirit, were meant for a particular season or period of Christianity, and not anymore today. What we affirm in this book, is that there is no such doctrine in the Bible, from the Old to the New Testament. Now, that again, is a major red herring or a big Elephant in the room, where because of the dichotomy that has existed between the Old and New Testament books, it appears that the moment the Old Testament is divorced or removed from the narrative of the New Testament books as we now call them, the thorough evidence of the supernatural worldview is removed from context of the New Testament. We boldly affirm that this is not so, as the very curriculum, basis, and doctrine of the New Testament church are the same Old Testament events that latter interpreters of the 20th Century, or should we say, the 16th Century have chosen to deny.Much of the pillorying or critiquing of the Charismatic Ministry, even while admitting excesses within the fold, have been seen to come from wrong interpretations or assumed interpretation of scriptures.I must quickly highlight that one of the first things that we seek to do in this material is to expose as it were, the vestiges of an interpretation modus that seeks to separate scripture, I mean a certain lacuna within the interpretation of the New Testament texts that seeks to separate it from the Old Testament texts.
