The Chief CMS492 is a plenum rated ceiling enclosure that lets you mount and protect AV gear above a suspended ceiling grid, giving the room a cleaner, more professional appearance without exposed cables or devices.

It drops directly into a standard two foot by two foot ceiling opening, replacing a single tile with no cutting or framing required. The white finish blends with typical acoustical panels, so the box practically disappears once in place. Because it is UL approved for air handling spaces and fully TAA compliant, it satisfies safety codes and procurement rules in schools, government buildings, and commercial facilities.

The lightweight construction and included Speed Connect hardware allow one person to lift, position, and secure the enclosure. A detachable power housing lets an electrician handle wiring early in the project, while four conduit knockouts give integrators flexible entry points for power, data, and control lines.

Inside, a sturdy AV tray and the supplied shelf support up to 100 pounds of equipment, from projectors and switchers to small PCs or streaming players.
