DAT Head Alignment tape mastered from a Sony PCM 2500 "reference" recorder which was "scope" aligned with a Sony Studio Prerecorded Music DDD master tape.
The original Sony DAT alignment service tapes are no longer available, so to help out the DAT community keep this terrific format alive. I have created an alignment tape to help get your machine properly aligned so that you can play tapes that were recorded on other machines.
I have tested my head alignment with tapes that were recorded on a Tascam DA30 and a Panasonic SV3800 and they all play fine on my machine.
Included on the tape you have 1k test tones, 10k Test tone, Pink Noise , Pink Noise (Right channel inverted). Right , Left Center,Stereo and Noise Floor tests. There is also music to test the audio quality of your recorder.
The tracks were recorded in 16bit/48k sound from a Digital to Analog Master using a Sony PCM D100 Recorder at around -20db to -10db levels so be sure to turn up your playback levels.
