"To me the Victorian way of life was very romantic and the form of Victorian women very sensuous.
It is from these stimuli that I seek the inspiration of my work."
The forms and surface decorations of Laney Oxman's pottery are deliberately nostalgic, rooted in the sensuality of Victorian opulence.
The figure of the female form and its influence on the art of past ages share the place of her inspiration with fantasy and subconscious desire.
As a potter, sculptor and painter, Oxman carefully blends techniques from each discipline in the process of creation, where color and brushstrokes are applied with unhesitant control.
