Before Torre, Chipper, and Riley, there was the late great Eddie Matthews. Hit over 500 HR in his Hall of Fame playing Era.
This was when ballplayers, even HOFers, would come to card shows in the 80s. Jenkins, Feller, Carew, Rose, etc, to supplement their paltry retirement income.
This I got in the eagerly 80s when I met Dave & Patty Shore and Feank & Vivian Barning, who had just moved from Glen Cove NY, then brought Baseball Hobby News out west. Then Allan Kaye started up Baseball Card News, so the show was in San Diego w Kit Young, among others.
Great yesteryear collectible framed and matted. You don't see much anymore, and with me getting up there, I can't hang onto this stuff forever.
