The GenRad 1539-A Stroboslave is a versatile stroboscopic light source, ideal for motion studies and high-speed photography. It's suitable for most stroboscope applications, except tachometry. Multiple Stroboslaves can be used when multiple light sources are needed. Removing the reflector at the end of the extension cable allows the strobotron lamp assembly to be inserted through a one-inch hole, enabling observation of objects in otherwise inaccessible areas. The 1539-A Stroboslave is a miniature electronic stroboscope without an internal oscillator to set flash speed, making it unable to function as a tachometer. It can be triggered directly by a switch closure, a Type 1537-A photoelectric pickup, a Type 1531-P2 Flash Delay (with a Type 1536-A electrical pickoff), or a positive electrical impulse of at least 2 volts peak. Additionally, it can operate directly from the output of GenRad 1531, 1538, or 1546 Stroboslaves, producing the same light output as the Strobotac Type 1531-A and operating in the same three basic ranges of 0 to 25,000 flashes per minute. The strobotron lamp and reflector connect to the unit via a five-foot flexible cable, allowing the light to be placed near the subject being observed.
