The station has new T37 390W tips and is backward compatible with T33 260W tips that have top-controlled temperatures and multiple shapes. The FX-805 includes the same features as the previous model, including normal and power operating modes, up to six user-programmable preset temperatures, automatic shut-off for safety if the unit is left on, and process control lockout with password protection to ensure that only the appropriate soldering iron temperatures are being used and to prevent inadvertent changes to the system. The FX-805 comes with the standard FX-8004 Soldering Handpiece. An optional FX-8005 Nitrogen Compatible Soldering Handpiece is also available (sold separately) and requires the use of nozzles that are specific to the tip shape being used.
