This is the SONY portable DAT recorder/player "TCD-D3". Released in 1991, it's a digital audio tape (DAT) Walkman, a professional-spec machine capable of high-quality recording and playback. It combined portability and high sound quality, and was used in studios and field recordings at the time.

There is some stickiness on the rubber parts on the sides, but overall it seems clean.
The included DC adapter is missing.
The case is included.
Since there is no way to confirm power-on, it is currently listed as "untested junk".
