Vintage Hand Carved Bookends Wavy Beige Onyx Aztec Carved Face Theme In Shades Of Green
This very handsome set of bookends are from our 1973 trip to Mexico.
Hand carved and very heavy at 5.8 lbs.
6" x 6" x 2 1/2". They are 2 1/2" at the base and taper up to 3/4".
The faces are hand carved as well in different shades of green. Wonderful details.
There are minor defects on each piece. Please see the photos. Although there are some defects, the set is still magnificent.
The darker Aztec face piece is chipped at the top right corner and lower left corner. The lighter shade face piece is chipped slightly on the left side and the upper right corner.
The onyx is considered "wavy" in shades of beige.
On the base of the lighter shaded piece is the number 43 and perhaps signed by the artist.
