Moss agate is translucent and is a type of Chalcedony that contains a mossy, dendric branching or fern -like pattern. Sometimes the green patterns give an impression of a heavy forested landscape. The pretty moss agate snuff bottle has a good looking flattened round shape and is well hollowed. The rounded body ends in a small raised oval foot. It has a good size opening. The matching cap has a cork stopper and an old spoon. It appears to be one of a kind product, the foot looks hand carved. It has more age than the well polished look alike stone bottles that are produced in the 21st century.
