Antique Style Chinese Cinnabar
Cinnabar is a light red stone consisting of mercury sulfide (HgS), it is generally encountered through pyrite marc site with stibnite inside veins near current volcanic rocks as well as inside hot springs deposits.)
Hand carved.
This piece is authentic and has markings on the bottom.
It was made between the 1700-1800’s.
Beware of remakes made of plastic.
Beautiful piece and great condition.
One of my favorites in my collection.
Very rare.
