Weather’s Basic Histopathology 4th edition

In the fourth edition of Basic Histopathology, we have maintained the format of previous editions, with the teaching text in the form of expanded captions related to high quality labelled photo-micrographs illustrating the essential features of the pathology. Each chapter opens with an introductory overview to set the scene, and simple flow charts, line diagrams and revision lists are included where relevant. The text has been updated where necess-ary, and some sections have been comprehensively rewritten to clarify and emphasise current understanding of the topic. However, the major change in this edition has been the introduction of new photo-micrographs and the improvement of many of the previously used pictures using computer manipulation of digitised images. Many of the new photomi-crographs have also been generated using a digital camera. We have increased the size of some of the photomicrographs wherever clear layout and pagination permitted it. This fourth edition still contains some of the original photomicrographs used in the first edition 17 years ago. It is gratifying that no amount of computer jiggery-pokery has been able to improve these original photographs taken by our dear friend and original co-author, the late Paul Wheater.
